Faraday is ISO 27001 certified!

A short interview with Dirk Schluter, founder of Faraday. About the how, what, and why of our certification.
ISO 27001 sounds futuristic... but what is it for?
ISO 27001 is a globally recognised, independent standard that proves the robustness of our Information Security Management System. This demonstrates to everyone that we are a reliable partner for our clients.
Information Security Management System... what's that in plain language?
An ISMS covers our entire organisation, from how you interact with visitors in your building to how you set up your network and manage your projects. It's the sum of all the agreements and processes we've established internally to secure information.
Why did Faraday start this?
We design and develop digital products. This means we work with sensitive information daily. At the same time, we're aware of the threat of cybercrime, changes in legislation, and so on. Combine that with the high bar we, like our clients, set for ourselves... An ISO certification is a logical next step!

What will our customers notice about this?
We've always taken the handling of confidential data and privacy seriously – the ISO certification recognises this and makes it explicit. It's also increasingly becoming a requirement for collaboration in the market. Organisations need to be able to trust that their data is in safe hands with partners.
And what do their users notice about this?
The funny thing is, in practice, end users won't notice much of it. And that's exactly the point! We reduce the risk of leaks and other problems, so they can work, shop, or play worry-free. On the other hand, we're seeing in the B2B market that professional users are increasingly attaching value to such a certificate.
The certificate is in. Can we relax now?
Absolutely not! Certification is an important milestone, not the end point. Information security is a topic that requires continuous focus. ISO 27001 requires us to continuously improve ourselves, our policies, and our procedures. And they'll continue to assess us in the future, so we stay on our toes!
